Members of the Jewish and Christian communities in Rome will gather on Thursday evening (15 January) at the Pontifical Lateran University to share their reflection on the theme, The Ninth Commandment: “Do not bear false witness to your neighbour” (Ex 20,16).
The two main speakers are Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni, Chief Rabbi of Rome, and Professor Innocenzo Gargano, who teaches patrology at the Pontifical Oriental Institute.
Msgr. Marco Gnavi, who heads the Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue for the Diocese of Rome, will preside. The university’s rector-major, Bishop Enrico dal Covolo, sdb, will open the event with words of welcome.
The Jewish-Christian Day of Reflection will be held in the university’s Pio XI Hall, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30.
The evening will also include a musical interlude, offered by the group Progetto Davka.
